Edition Singularis

The dial of this strictly limited edition is made of a material requiring delicate craftmanship that has only been mastered by very few artists over the last century, i.e., enamel. The glossy, ivory-colored dial is designed in the style of an early pocket watch from an era when people still kept their timepieces on a chain. The outer dial ring gives the entire ensemble a certain depth and vibrancy, while the curved serif typeface and subtle blue highlights add to the visual lightness of this unusual timepiece.

The iconic stainless steel case is 43 mm in diameter, water-resistant up to 5 bar, and fitted with a domed sapphire glass over the dial. The sixfold screwed sapphire glass exhibition back makes it possible to observe the elaborately finished, geometrically unique movement performing its high-precision task.

The MeisterSinger MSH01 hand-wound movement, which features an outstanding power reserve, is at work inside the Singularis. Two in-line mainspring barrels store the energy required for the 120-hour power reserve.

The manufacturing of enamel dials is an ancient science in itself. Since the Middle Ages, clock dials have been enameled using a sophisticated mixture of glass-forming silicates and oxides. Today, however, only very few people still understand this elaborate, highly complex process. The finely ground base material is melted at high temperatures with a short firing time and fired onto the prepared substrate – in our case a brass dial. That’s how genuine high-quality enamel watch dials are made. The Singularis is the second generation of MeisterSinger watches to be powered by the watchmaker’s own calibers. The MSH01 hand-wound movement is unique in every detail and combines the technical sophistication and aesthetic ideals of MeisterSinger. The MSH01 movement has earned itself the Red Dot Award as well as the German Design Award for its unusual, aesthetic implementation.
