Edition Enamel 1Z

The dial of this strictly limited edition utilises a delicate craft that has only been mastered by a few artists for a century: enamel. The shiny, ivory-coloured dial is reminiscent of the style of an early pocket watch from a time when people still wore their watches on a chain. The elaborately heat-blued hand with extra-long transition makes its rounds in true MeisterSinger style.

The 43 mm diameter stainless steel case is water-resistant to 5 bar and has a domed sapphire crystal above the dial. The movement can be observed during its precision work through the quadruple screw-down glass back.

The Edition 1Z is powered by a modified ETA/Unitas 6498 pocket watch movement with a power reserve of 46 hours. The impressive movement with its sun-polished wheels, blued screws and bridge decorated with a Côtes de Genève will fascinate any lover of mechanical movements.

The production of enamelled dials is an ancient science in itself. Since the Middle Ages, watch dials have been enamelled with a sophisticated mixture of glass-forming silicates and oxides. Today, only a few people still understand this highly complex and elaborate process. The finely ground raw material is melted at high temperatures and with a short firing time and fired onto the prepared carrier material – a brass dial. This is the only way to create genuine, valuable enamelled dials. Each dial is unique with a one-of-a-kind look. Their movement is no less impressive. The elaborate decoration of the modified Unitas 6498 pocket watch movement will fascinate any lover of mechanical movements. Limited to 24 pieces, the edition watch is a tribute to MeisterSinger’s very first enamel watch, the Edition 1Z, from 2004.
